Leadership and communication training
NISR has identified a need to build the leadership and communication skills of its staff. In particular, there is a need to develop the leadership and communication skills of the Team Leaders and survey supervisors so that they can become senior leaders and effectively supervise the surveys and censuses. Team Leaders with strong leadership skills are essential for succession planning. Building the communication and leadership of Team Leaders would also enable them to carry out their current roles more effectively, and improve the productivity of NISR. A ‘train the trainer model’ is used to train 3-4 facilitators to deliver this leadership and communication course to NISR Team Leaders and surveys supervisors. The course is implemented in the collaboration it is envisaged that one of these facilitators will be the AIMS Student Development Officer and that NISR would then select 2-3 other individuals (either from NISR, academia, or another government department
